Seymours Dorking is headed up by local Directors David Driscoll and Jamie Hynes bringing over 40 years' experience of selling homes throughout the many towns and picturesque villages of the Surrey Hills.

The Dorking office fits perfectly into Seymours' network and neighbours the highly successful Guildford and Cranleigh offices.

At Seymours Dorking we deal with properties of all sizes, from the town centre to the many beautiful surrounding villages. We offer free valuations, help for clients buying and selling property and aim to provide honest advice in all situations, in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

David, who has lived in the area for over 40 years, says "We are committed to providing an excellent level of service. Living in Brockham with a young family I know exactly why the Dorking area is such a wonderful place to live and aim to get that across to anyone looking to buy in the area."

Jamie, who has been an estate agent for 20 years said, "What makes us stand out from the crowd first and foremost is customer care and always being available. We both love what we do and have a passion for finding a solution."

The office is stylish and modern and in planning the design we have incorporated a play area for children to enjoy, plus refreshments are on offer at all times with a warm welcome to everyone.

We are proud to say we have raised over £4,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We are extremely excited to announce that we will now be working with The Brigitte Trust to try to raise awareness and as much money as possible for this wonderful charity.

Over the last two decades we have built a first-class property marketing service based on honesty, openness and transparency and now have a network of 19 independently owned, partner-run offices.

Property tips for buying
  • paragraph

Buying the right house can be one of the most important decisions that you make - so it's important to get it right.

Here are a few pointers in order to help you find your next dream home.

  • paragraph

    1. A clinical approach
    image cannot be displayed
On the first viewing, try and remain objective and view the property as a building that needs inspecting. Staying one step removed will help you to formulate a balanced view of the property.
  • paragraph

    2. View it, view it and view it again
    image cannot be displayed
What you see on the second and third visit may have escaped your attention the first time around. Not only that, but we would recommend that you try to view a property at different times of the day in order to see the bigger picture.
  • paragraph

    3. Don't leave any stone unturned
    image cannot be displayed
Are there any hairline cracks in the walls or ceiling? If so, make sure you investigate further. Ruling out structural issues from the outset could save you time, money and pain later down the line. Equally, don't be put off the property if you do spot something. A professional opinion will give you peace of mind and may provide you with the power to negotiate on price.
  • paragraph

    4. Make sure it's not a damp squib
    image cannot be displayed
Be wary of damp. Even if you can't see it damp can be present, so keep your nose tuned in for musty smells.
  • paragraph

    5. Get familiar with the property and area
    image cannot be displayed
Spend at least 30 minutes looking around the property and at least 30 minutes walking around the general area. The property might be fantastic but if the general area isn't what you're looking for then walking around the area might help you avoid walking into a mistake.
  • paragraph

    6. Only fools rush in
    image cannot be displayed

Visit the property at rush hour. Is it any different? Is there a build up of traffic at key commuting times? If so, it may influence your decision. Either way, it's best to know as much as you can before you commit.

  • paragraph

    7. Our survey says...
    image cannot be displayed
Make sure you have your prospective property surveyed. A seller doesn't have to tell you about any problems - and they may even try to cover them up. If a survey reveals the worst possible scenario and one that's enough to put you off the property, don't be disheartened. It may have saved you tens of thousands of pounds in the future.
  • paragraph

    8. Use a checklist
    image cannot be displayed
Checklists, like the one here , are a fantastic way in which to make sure you gather as much information as possible from your viewings. Don't be afraid to use them - they may help uncover critical information that could influence your decision.
  • paragraph

    9. Think long-term
    image cannot be displayed
When finding the property of your dreams it's easy to forget to think ahead. It's often worth asking yourself would you be happy living in the property three, four and five years from now - and will this property suit your long-term (and even short-term) plans?
  • paragraph

    10. Find a good mortgage broker
    image cannot be displayed
Once you've found someone who you feel comfortable with, make sure you have a written 'in principle' offer from the start as this can speed things up once you have an offer accepted.

      regular communications
Amazing service from David and the team. The entire team was super helpful throughout the process of buying our new home - regular communications and updates, proactive in dealing with the Austrialian-based owner (awkward time difference), and helped both parties work towards a quick 3 month process from viewing to completion.

Seymours were fantastic from start to finish with selling our property. We had a few local agents come and view the property, but Seymours were head and shoulders above and we knew they were the right fit. Their personal approach and attention to detail was great. All the way through the process they continued to send updates and keep us connected with other aspects in the chain. Big thanks to Emma for this!

      Throughout they were very professional
Seymours have just helped me sell my Mother's bungalow. It took a long time due to the market conditions but they stuck at it, securing and managing a large number of viewings. Throughout they were very professional and easy to deal with, communicated regularly and were open to discussion. In the final stages Robbie did an invaluable job in chasing all parties and keeping everyone updated on what was happening, it certainly helped keep me sane!
