We asked the owners about their fabulous property and this is what they had to say.

What attracted you to the property when you first bought it ?

What drew us to this property was the unique blend of space, tranquillity, and endless possibilities it offers. The peaceful, rural location was a dream come true, with 3 acres of beautiful land, including a mature orchard, creating a natural oasis. The generously sized rooms and the spacious layout instantly felt like an ideal setting for a growing family, offering room to breathe, play, and make memories. We also saw so much potential to personalize it—whether updating interiors or even building an annexe. Being close to the train station meant we didn’t have to sacrifice convenience for a countryside lifestyle. And, of course, the friendly village of Yalding, with its welcoming pub, local restaurants, and scenic countryside perfect for dog walks, made it feel like the perfect place to call home.

What improvements have you made to the house while you have been there?

Since purchasing the property, we’ve made several thoughtful improvements to enhance both functionality and enjoyment of the space. We built an annexe, ideal for a home office and gym, offering a quiet and dedicated workspace and fitness area. The driveway has been reconfigured into a convenient in-out system, providing ample parking for family and guests. We also added a beautiful conservatory, which opens up the home to the surrounding natural views. Inside, a new open-plan kitchen and dining area bring a fresh, modern feel, perfect for family gatherings and entertaining. Updated bathrooms throughout the house add a touch of luxury and comfort. Outside, we created a patio area designed for summer BBQs and outdoor living, making it an ideal spot for relaxing and hosting. Additionally, a large new garage/outbuilding has been constructed, perfect for use as a workshop or for storing large equipment—adding both utility and flexibility to the property.

What have you enjoyed about living there ?

Living here has been an absolute joy and the perfect place to raise our family. The peaceful rural setting and vast open spaces have given us a sense of freedom and connection to nature that’s hard to find. We’ve loved hosting gatherings, from summer BBQs on the patio to cosy winter bonfires, bringing friends and family together in every season. Apple picking in our own orchard has become a cherished autumn tradition, and there’s been more than enough room to have people stay comfortably, making it easy to share our home with loved ones. The open-plan kitchen and dining area has been a fantastic hub for hosting parties and family dinners, while the conservatory offers a serene spot to unwind and enjoy the views. The new annexe has been a real asset, giving us dedicated space for work and fitness, while the large outbuilding has been perfect for storing equipment and pursuing hobbies. Altogether, this home has offered us the best of family living, combining space, community, and endless opportunities to create lasting memories
