What attracted your parents to the property when they bought it ?

Our parents moved from Green-St-Green to Cascade in 99/2000 as they wanted more gardens and a more prestigious property.  They particularly wanted a pleasant area with a good community and realised the house had potential.
 
What improvements have been made to the house ?

Originally the house was in the traditional style, with wood beams, and an unusual layout.  The house was completely remodelled in a modern style, including an extension, new stairs, bigger landing and new layout.  The ground floor was later extended to open-up the kitchen and add the bi-fold doors.  The house has been renovated to a high standard throughout and well maintained over the years.

What did they enjoy about living there ?

The house and gardens are quiet and peaceful and our parents would often spend time entertaining friends and family in the garden.  The new kitchen layout offer an inside-out entertaining/dining experience.  The large rooms offer much flexibility - one of the bedrooms has been converted into a spacious study, while the reception room once housed the family snooker table (now a tv room).  The lodge was originally used as a study/gym and now houses the snooker table, which has been heavily used by the family over the years.
Knockholt is a pleasant area with a good community served by several pubs and a small local shop.  Our parents had an allotment for many years and were part of the community surrounding it, based in the Harrow pub nearby.  Neighbours are all friendly and helpful.  The property is well situated, with Sevenoaks 15 minutes away.  The M25 is only a few minutes away.
