A large part of the farm estate became deer parkland about the time of Elizabeth the first; but reverted to farmland in the first half of the 19th century. It is said that Oliver Cromwell lived there during the Civil War and his coat of arms were painted on the chimney breast. It was later owned by the Despencer family, the oldest surviving living title except for the Crown. The then 6th Viscount Falmouth then married into the Despenser family and brought her title and Buston Manor into the Falmouth family. During the 2nd world war Buston manor became a military hospital. This stunning property features nine bedrooms and six reception rooms with an adjoining self-contained annexe containing a further three bedrooms and one reception room.
