Description
There is a wonderful sense of community in the pretty village of Blisland; the village green is a real focal point, the historic church is well worth visiting, there’s a well stocked village shop, and Blisland Inn has a great atmosphere and is always a welcoming venue to meet up with friends.
We love our home, and have always intended to stay here forever – we’ve done a lot of work inside and out to make it ‘ours’ – but our family needs us to be closer to them for an exciting new adventure.
Our dogs adore walking on the moors where Shetland ponies roam, and it’s so convenient to be able to have a lovely stroll without needing to get into the car first!
The birdsong, sound of a babbling stream and the peaceful calm of our south facing garden will be much missed, along with the radiant colour from our flourishing rhododendrons, camelias and magnificent magnolias.
Inside Cassacawn Farmhouse, we have strived to blend modern convenience with heritage features – this is particularly evident in the bespoke kitchen with fitted appliances alongside a Rayburn and Esse woodburner stove. The adjacent dining room is always flooded with light from the patio and decking area, with gorgeous views of the garden; we adore the cosy feel of our ‘winter lounge’ too, the woodburner ensures we stay delightfully snug!
In short, we will hand over the keys with great reluctance to new owners, but we will be comforted by many happy memories of the lovely times we have shared at Cassacawn Farmhouse.
Step inside:
Tucked away in an especially tranquil part of Cornwall, this delightful four bedroom detached property offers a perfect haven of charm.
Immaculately maintained, this very special home has been lovingly renovated and extended to include a light and airy dining room with a high vaulted and beamed ceiling, a garden room, a stunning decked balcony and superb patio to take in the far reaching views of lush Cornish countryside and wildlife.
The dual aspect, generous sitting room offers comfort and charm, with a roaring woodburner set within a feature granite fireplace.
The bespoke kitchen is truly the heart of this splendid residence, featuring two separate islands, a butler's sink, an oil-fired Rayburn, additional Esse woodburning stove, two fireplaces with granite lintels, and an exquisite blend of original features, master carpentry and high-spec appliances.
On the first floor, all four bedrooms are filled with light and have eye catching windows from which to enjoy the bucolic surroundings. The master bedroom has a convenient ensuite shower room, and the five piece family bathroom is well appointed and spacious.
Step outside:
The landscaped gardens have a wealth of gorgeous colour across almost one acre in total, including a separate area for growing fruit and vegetables, enchanting pathways through camelias and rhododendrons, and a gently bubbling brook at the very bottom of the lawn.
The rolling lawns are surrounded by colourful established shrubs, with paths weaving all around to lead to the greenhouse, sheds, home produce area and woodstore. The patio, garden room and decked balcony all offer incredible vistas, with constant reminds of the beauty of the surroundings from the many types of birdsong.
The large double garage has space for two vehicles, with an expansive landscaped parking area. Cassacawn Farmhouse is unique in both charm and setting, offering character and modernity in an exceptionally successful combination.
Exit the A30 at the Blisland Junction, following signs for the village. Continue on the B3266 into Blisland Village, then turn left onto Tregenna Lane.
Follow Tregenna Lane as it leads you towards the Cassacawn area, then turn left onto Waterloo Lane. Follow Waterloo Lane for approximately 0.2 miles, and Cassacawn Farmhouse will be on your right.
