There are numerous other paths traversing the village, providing some interesting walks. The annual Baltonsborough Show in the Summer is quite a spectacle, with classic cars, tractors, a produce competition and more. A regular bus service operates through the village connecting with Street, Yeovil, Wincanton and Castle Cary, which has the nearest mainline railway station.
The market town of Glastonbury offers a wide variety of amenities in the High Street and a local supermarket. There is schooling from primary through to secondary with further education available at the nearby Millfield School and Strode College. Communication links are excellent with access to the M5 some 15 miles distance and at Castle Cary mainline trains run to London.
