It has an active preschool and an excellent primary school, the renowned Court Farm Inn sits in the centre of the Village, surrounded by thatched cottages and next door to St.Marys Church. A village shop, hair salon/beautician, veterinary centre, café / emporium, a cricket club and sports facilities which include an all weather tennis/netball area and a recreation ground with football field, children's play ground and skateboard park complete the picture. The village hosts a number of annual events including fireworks and a beer and food festival named ‘Abbfest’ which celebrates local food and drink and music. The village is 6 miles from Totnes, 2 miles from a leading garden centre and a golf club.
