Description

A beautifully updated family home in the heart of a desirable Somerset village.

Welcome to Kylemore - a bright and generously proportioned four-bedroom detached home, perfectly positioned in the peaceful village of Galhampton, just moments from the vibrant market towns of Castle Cary and Bruton.

Tastefully modernised with thoughtful updates, this attractive home offers space, comfort, and countryside charm - ideal for growing families, those looking to downsize to a quieter pace of life, or anyone dreaming of a move to a well-connected rural setting.

Step through the front door into a welcoming hallway that immediately sets the tone - light, bright and airy. To the left, the spacious sitting room features a wood-burning stove and dual aspect windows, making it the perfect retreat in both summer and winter. French doors lead directly onto a sheltered terrace, ideal for relaxing or entertaining outdoors. There is also a modern ground floor shower room.

To the right, a beautifully reimagined kitchen-dining room flows seamlessly with space to cook, gather and enjoy! Triple-aspect windows bathe the room in natural light, and modern fittings include marble-effect worktops, a Rangemaster cooker, and space for an American fridge-freezer. The adjoining utility room provides practicality with outside access to both the garden and parking area - great for muddy boots and paws!

Upstairs, four generous bedrooms provide plenty of space for family, guests or a home office. Two of the rear-facing bedrooms take in open countryside views and there is a modern family bathroom. Ample storage space adds convenience and comfort.

Outside, Kylemore really shines. To the front is a private, hedged garden with flowering trees, while the rear garden offers a lawned space with mature borders, rose beds, and two sun-drenched seating areas. The garden is secure for children and pets and enjoys uninterrupted views over neighbouring fields - a rare and peaceful backdrop.

The double garage includes a workshop area, ideal for hobbies or additional storage. With solar panels, a Tesla Powerwall (negotiable) and EV charging capability already in place, the home is well-equipped for modern, energy-conscious living.

About Hunter French, Bruton

9 High Street, Bruton, BA10 0AB

Hunter French Estate Agents were formed in 2005 by Stephen Hunter and Karen Dumine both of whom had been working in corporate Estate Agency since 1996 and 1988 respectively.

They decided to join forces and opened an Estate Agency that actually focused on selling property rather than mortgages, overseas homes and insurances! The first office was opened on the busy London Road in Bath - covering Larkhall and the villages beyond.

In 2007 their second branch was opened in Corsham, followed by Devizes, Frome and Tetbury. In 2010 Karen Dumine headed up the new office in Bruton and then Wincanton. 2024 welcomed another new branch opening in Wotton - Under - Edge in Gloucestershire.

Karen has a wealth of incredible knowledge in the property industry. She has not only helped hundreds of people move in her career but has also been involved in property renovation, holiday lets, short term rentals - she has even written about property and been published in newspapers and magazines.

She is joined in the Bruton Office by Issy Creighton, and Olive Evans-Van Cleef. Independent financial services are provided by Jeremy Blair and Jo Betts
