Description

Why buy this home?

Hollies Rest is a truly exceptional five bedroom detached home that effortlessly blends period charm with modern comfort. The original part of the house dates back to the 1600s, while a sympathetic and high-quality extension was added in 2003, creating a spacious and versatile living space perfect for modern family life.

As you approach the property, the generous amount of off-road parking is immediately noticeable. There are four parking spaces at the front, along with a large double garage tucked neatly into the corner of the driveway. The garage is fitted with lighting and electricity, offering potential for a home gym, studio or workshop.

The house has two front entrances. One leads into the modern wing of the property, the other into the characterful original section. Entering through the modern side, you step into a beautifully designed open plan kitchen, living and dining space.

This light-filled, triple-aspect room features Karndean flooring for easy maintenance, along with a high-end AEG-fitted kitchen with Quartz worktops. The standout feature here is the large central island with an integrated induction hob, allowing you to cook while remaining part of the conversation. Doors open directly onto the patio, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience. A striking original wrought iron spiral staircase leads upstairs to the main bedroom, guest room and family bathroom.

From here, a hallway connects the newer part of the house to the original section, filled with character thanks to exposed timber beams and mosaic glass. Off the hallway is a generously sized utility room, finished with Quartz worktops and space for both a washing machine and tumble dryer, keeping your kitchen clutter-free.

Next is the original sitting room, a cosy and atmospheric space featuring a large inglenook fireplace. From here, an opening into a snug overlooking the mature rear garden.

To the far left of the ground floor is a recently modernised shower room with a spacious double cubicle, along with a study or fifth bedroom. This setup offers excellent flexibility, particularly for multigenerational living or overnight guests, with convenient access to their own bathroom. There is also a well-maintained cellar, offering further storage or potential use.

Upstairs, the older part of the house houses bedroom two, a well-proportioned double room with its own en suite, perfect for visiting family or guests. Further along the hallway is bedroom four, and as you transition into the newer wing again, you’ll find the guest room – another good-sized double that shares the family bathroom with bedroom four.

Finally, the main bedroom is a beautifully bright space that enjoys views over the manicured rear garden. It benefits from a large built-in wardrobe and its own en suite shower room, completing this private retreat.

The rear garden is west-facing and not overlooked, enjoying plenty of afternoon and evening sunshine. A raised patio area provides the perfect setting for summer barbecues and gatherings, with space for both outdoor dining and children to play. A generous shed with power and lighting offers further potential – whether for a summerhouse, outdoor bar or creative space.

The home has been thoughtfully updated over time, with full rewiring and new double glazing throughout, giving it an energy efficiency rare in properties of this age.

Hollies Rest is a unique opportunity to own a home that offers historic charm, flexible accommodation and modern comfort, all in a beautifully presented package.

More about the location...

Newton Longville is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority area of Buckinghamshire. The village is about 2 miles (3 km) south-west of Bletchley.

The main industry in the village between 1847 and 1991 was brick making. The village had a large brick factory, originally belonging to the Read family, becoming the Bletchley Brick company in 1923, and then taken over by the London Brick Company (LBC) in 1929. The works made Fletton bricks and distributed them all over the country. It was closed in November 1991 after Hanson Trust bought the London Brick Company.

Newton Longville Church of England Combined School is a mixed, voluntary controlled primary school, that takes children between the ages of four and eleven. It has slightly over 200 pupils. A lot of parents take advantage of the fact Newton Longville falls under Aylesbury Vale District Council and as such as direct catchment to the Royal Latin Grammar School in Buckingham.
