This is the end home on a row of character terraced houses and comes with the mother of all parking spaces, which, considering its Town Centre location, is a real plus point. There's parking here for a large motorhome, caravan, or fleet of cars as well as an attached garage, that, with the right planning permission, could offer even more internal space in the home, if required! Future proofing your home is always a bonus.
As we step through the bright red front door with its frosted and stained glass ornamental windows that help keep the space light, we enter the very hand porch area. Ideal for taking off and leaving your wet shoes and coats, before stepping onto the lounge.
Solid oak wooden floors greet us and provide us with a hint of what is on offer in this fabulous home. Large windows offer views over the front aspect and allow ample natural light to flood in. A state of the art gas fire place not only provides heat on a winters night, but also sets a cosy ambiance too, as the flames flicker on a cold dark night. The room opens up into the dining area.
This was originally two separate rooms, but some bright spark thought that one open space was the way forward, and hats off to him or her! Also, there is no entrance hallway because that same bright spark thought to remove this waste of space and turn it into something way more useful; hence, you have a very large living room - which, once you've seen the size of the present owners sofas, you'll be glad the wall has gone!
Anyway, I digress. The dining room is another generous room that can not only house a four seat table and chairs, but also a selection of armchairs and other pieces of furniture, and quite comfortably too! If you like to have friends or family around, then this is a home where you can do it. A large window again offers light in here as well as a view over the rear courtyard area. An open staircase rises to the first floor, and a door opens to the kitchen.
What a beautiful kitchen this is, with wooden units, some with showcase glass fronts, that are floor and wall mounted for optimum storage. Work-surfaces cover three walls and provide space for all of your 21st century gadgetry, as well as a place for food preparation. This, in estate agency terms, would be called a 'galley' kitchen because it is long and narrow, but I use the term narrow 'loosely'. Here you can get multiple people in at the same time, without fear of wanting to kill each other. There are spaces where you could fit some bar stools, to create a breakfast area, although why you'd feel a need for this is beyond me, when you have a large dining room a few feet away! Two windows offer views over the courtyard and help keep this area nice and light.
At the end of the kitchen is the very handy cloakroom, but this one has a shower in it too. A modern contemporary suite is fitted, which includes all of the usual suspects that you'd expect to find, WC, pedestal wash hand basin and a curbed glass shower cubicle - if there is such a thing! A chromed heated towel rail provides warmth for you and your towels, with a frosted glass window to let light in and keep prying eyes out....not that it's that kind of area, so Tom said anyway!
So the ground floor caters for everything that a young or elderly couple, even middle aged, lets not leave people out, could wish for! So, if you're happy so far, then wait until we get upstairs.
The wooden floor continues through the top floor and helps to keep it nice and bright and classy too. A wooden banister with traditional spindles help to keep you safe and lead to the bedrooms.
The main is a large room with a full wall and a half of fitted bespoke wardrobes that provide enough storage for NEXT to open a branch and keep stock in here! There is ample space for a bed of your choice, be it a single, double, king, queen, bunk.....or whatever floats your boat.....although you may be limited on the choice of boats you want to try and squeeze in! Two large windows provide views over the front aspect and will also help to keep it nice and light.
The second bedroom is another large double room, not as big as the main, but still a generous size. Currently, there is a large triple wardrobe in here, while still providing space for other sundries you may want in here. A large window here offers views over the courtyard below - but you're not buying this home for the views are you, but more for the convenience of central Town living.
The last room upstairs, and they always say, save the best till last - well, my wife does anyway, and I pity the poor chap - is the family bathroom.
This comes with a bath that you won't want to get out of, raised up on a platform to showcase you, when you're sat in it....although I'm sure that's not the purpose it's intended for, but it fits my description perfectly! There is a separate mixer tap attachment with hand held shower device, so you get the best of both worlds in here. A wall mounted vanity sink unit, with LED mirrored wall unit above, separates the WC. This is not just a bathroom, it would be an M&S bathroom, if they made them anyway! A floor to ceiling chromed heated towel rail provides warmth and style in abundance, and the frosted window does what it was designed for.
The outside space for this home is mainly at the front, where I have already stated that you can park a fleet of cars. To the rear, there is a small secluded patio area, ideal for sunbathing and relaxing. It's completely maintenance free and offers a comfortable space to unwind and relax, no matter what time of day it is.
