What the Owner says:
I fell in love with the cottage as soon as I saw the lovely characterful rooms and the garden that swept down to the river bank. Although very occasionally the river has flooded the very end of the garden it has never got near the house, which has been standing for many centuries. It has been a wonderful home and a great place for parties in the garden and I shall always have fond memories of my time here.
It is quiet and peaceful and delightfully rural with wonderful places to go for walks including Ashdown Forest where the kids enjoy visiting Pooh Sticks Bridge and other areas made famous by Winnie the Pooh. However we are easily accessible to Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough and East Grinstead while it is only a short walk to the friendly community village of Withyham that includes a primary school, post office and convenience store and the excellent Dorset Arms pub as well as a village hall with a variety of regular activities, while there are also a number of useful farm shops in the vicinity. Hartfield is famous for being the home of A.A.Milne and includes the Bear Inn and the Gallipot Inn, a village shop and a butchers as well as a tea shop plus sports facilities.
The nearest station is Ashurst where trains to London Bridge take just 57 minutes. While Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough and East Grinstead offer excellent shops, restaurants, private and state schools including grammar schools in Tunbridge Wells.
