History dictates that John Biggs, the Dinton Hermit, lived in a cave in the village in the 17th century and was involved in the execution of King Charles 1 on 30 January 1649. Quite possibly Mr Biggs was the actual executioner. As one of the regicides, Simon Mayne also lived in Dinton, and was, after his death in imprisonment, buried here in 1661. It is possible that the executioner would have been given sanctuary and anonymity on one of the regicide's estates. Each 50mm partition is made up of 12.5mm ply then 12.5mm plaster board on each side. Great for hanging heavy pictures too! Mains water, electricity and drainage are connected.
