This home was sold to the previous owner by us, a young lad with his whole life ahead of him, his first home, and a little bit of a project. Sadly, Owain passed away earlier this year, and so the project was sadly never finished......which is why we are looking for someone to take over where he left it, and turn this into the dream home that Owain wanted it to be.

Located smack bang in the middle of the residential portion of Connah's Quay and within an easy stroll of two excellent primary schools, while keeping distant enough from them to ensure no interruptions via either noise or additional traffic, we find Hillside Avenue.

Sitting near the head of a long cul-de-sac of similar ex-local authority homes, this dates from a time when council housing was a byword for quality building and this, coupled with its attractive pricing, makes it an ideal first buy for a young family or even a great rental property

To the front of the home, what was originally the formal garden has been removed and replaced by a tarmac area providing parking space for at least two vehicles with a raised section to one side containing various shrubbery to add some colour. A covered alleyway runs between this house and next door providing access to the rear gardens of both homes.

A cantilevered canopy offers protection for the front door and keeps the worst of the weather off whoever is unlucky enough to find themselves unloading the shopping from the car, on some dark and rainy night. The door is a very attractive composite unit with a series of small diamond shaped glass inserts.

Stepping through the door puts us in the inner hall where the stairs rise in front of us. At the foot of the stairs the hall widens sufficiently to allow space to hang outdoor clothing and store shoes, this section benefiting from the additional light from the glazed brickwork beside the front door.

On the right is the cosy front lounge which is a nice generous size. The main focal point of the room is provided by the large wooden fire surround positioned opposite the picture window and featuring a lovely and fully certificated log burning stove. Stylish wood effect flooring provides character and makes for easy cleaning. A large recently fitted window allows plenty of natural light in, and offers views over the front.

Moving towards the rear of the home we find the kitchen / dining room which, as the title suggests, is very much a room of two halves. There are units fitted around two complete walls with work surfaces offering space for food preparation and also a place for our 21st century gadgets that we've become so reliant upon. There's ample storage for all of your kitchen needs. The floor changes to solid wood planking, where the dining section takes over.

There's space for a tall fridge/freezer to sit tucked away in the corner of the dining room which would leave extra space in the kitchen, while not encroaching too far into the space here. There is still more than enough room for a sensible sized dining table, as required to fulfil the needs of a family or for friends to pop round and be entertained, before a set of French doors opens out into the rear garden.


Outside, there is a wooden raised area that appears to be constructed of railway sleepers before giving way to the remainder of the space, laid to a mixture of paved areas and decorative block paving. To one side is a brick constructed semi detached shed providing masses of storage for the outdoor furniture that will soon be revealed for the family BBQs that the summertime will bring.


Returning indoors and up the stairs we come to the rear facing bathroom. This has been recently updated with a stylish large open glass shower that runs the full width of the room. A fabulous vanity sink unit with its chromed mixer tap adds a touch of glamour, sitting beside an ultra modern WC. This is a well thought out room, with dual frosted windows allowing plenty of light in and keeping prying eyes out.......although it's not that kind of area!!!


Adjacent to here at the head of the 'T' shaped landing is the rear facing double bedroom. This is a large room that's been opened up thanks to Owain, it was a smaller room but thanks to the larger wardrobenext to it, was made bigger and more useful. Another recently fitted window offers views over the rear aspect while allowing more light in.


Finally we come to the main bedroom, where we find a comfortable and airy space big enough for the double bed with its twin bedside cabinets along with two separate full sized chests of drawers. Now, originally alongside here was the third and smallest bedroom but, thanks to Owain, it's been converted and now makes one massive main bedroom.
If it was a third bedroom that you were after, then it could very easily be blocked off and turned back into a separate bedroom, or even home office / games room.
